Tax Representation

The last thing any taxpayer wants is to be contacted by the IRS with an audit notice, collection notice, or other news you were not expecting.  These events should be considered serious, but also a normal part of our tax system.  If you have received received any correspondence from the IRS it is important to deal with it timely.

Audits are a fact of life, and if your returns have been prepared by a reputable preparer with accurate information the process is usually painless with proper representation.  Audits may take significant time away from your business and family, requiring you to gather mounds of records substantiating each and every item reported on your tax return, however usually our clients never have to meet with the IRS. The IRS even states on their website that  "Selecting a return for examination (IRS does not always suggest that the taxpayer has either made an error or been dishonest. In fact, some examinations result in a refund to the taxpayer or acceptance of the return without change."

The ideal situation is of course to file your returns on time, pay the least but accurate and correct amount of tax you owe, and be compliant with all of your tax requirements.  If you have past returns that need to be filed let us give you the peace of mind you deserve by helping you get in compliance with the law. Typically if you voluntarily file your delinquent returns you'll likely avoid further problems other than having to pay the interest and penalties.  If you wait for the IRS to file your returns for you, they are filed in the best interest of the government, usually with little or none of the deductions you are entitled to.  Once we get an accurate account of what you owe, we'll set a course of action to get you back into compliance!

There is no One Size Fits All solution for tax problems. Every situation is different and needs to be evaluated accordingly.  Some of the options available such as an offer in compromise can actually hurt your situation if used improperly.  The type of tax, the age of the debt, the accuracy of the debt, and your current situation all have an impact on your situation.  We will make sure that your rights as a taxpayer are not violated, and you are dealt with in the proper manner.  Make sure you have appropriate representation to make sure you know the proper solution for your tax problem. Let us help you get into compliance and a plan to stay that way.  Contact Us Today.
